NEWS LETTER May 2000 IMPORTANT NOTICE - TO ALL DAIRY FARMERS.

It is most important that you read the section on Copper Release. At the same time as alerting you to our findings relating to Copper uptake we are taking this opportunity to update you on the results which have been achieved in various farm enterprises and which should be of interest to you.

DAIRY HERDS.

Copper release.

We have recently had further evidence that copper, which has been locked up in dairy forage rations by high Molybdenum, is being released by The Correct Magnet system. We therefore recommend that where the system is installed and high levels of copper are being given in the mineral supplement, injection or bolus that cow copper status should be monitored on a regular basis, so that copper supplementation can be reduced or halted when indicated by test results. Consult you veterinary surgeon.

Shortly after installing The Correct Magnet system, Paul Newman, who farms on high Molybdenum land in South West Wales, noticed to his surprise that his cows and heifers were coming bulling early in lactation. Previous on-farm trials by his vet had established that cows and heifers needed a copper injection before they would come bulling. Since the cows and heifers are now coming bulling early in lactation prior to injection, Paul Newman has stopped using copper injections and any other type of mineral supplementation and is very satisfied to find that the conception to first service is 75% over the past year.

We consider this is strong evidence that The Correct Magnet system releases copper which has been locked up in forage by high Molybdenum.

In Spring 1999, Paul Newman embarked on a new policy changing over to Organic Milk production and installed The Correct Magnets at the same time. Since then the general herd health has improved to such an extent that his regular monthly vet's bill has been reduced by approximately £200, down to £50 per month.

Reports from the field indicate that The Correct Magnet system is also reducing the incidence of milk fever. We believe that these mineral/trace element changes are due to a reduction in body pH and an improved cationic/anionic balance.

Assessment herd summary - Milk Production.

We have now assessed seven herds over an average six month winter period. Cows that have had access to magnetically conditioned drinking water have produced on average an EXTRA 1.9 litres/cow/day. There is strong evidence that cows peak later in lactation and then the yield is maintained at a higher level than in cows on untreated water. If a 200 cow herd produces 2 litres extra milk per cow per day in July and August when the milk price is high this could mean an extra £5,000 gross income at no extra cost.

Fertility.

The results from four farms, where meaningful figures could be obtained, showed an average improvement of 22.3% in conception to first service. We believe this increase is due to an improved mineral , trace element and ationic/anionic balance together with a better energy status. The production, fertility and mineral release results indicate that The Correct Magnet system optimises milk production producing milk more efficiently and with less stress on the cow.

PIGS.

A trial carried out on fattening pigs from weaning weight to slaughter by a veterinary student at a veterinary college showed a 4% improvement in FCR. We now have strong evidence from on-farm assessments that even better results are achieved when the whole herd receives magnetically treated water.

David Holman reports:-

He considers these benefits are worth an extra £5-£6 per pig slaughtered.

Stanley Anderson, a pig farmer in Northern Ireland, has seen similar benefits and he is delighted to find that a long standing problem of tail and ear biting has disappeared since installing The Correct Magnet system.

Sam Walton has reported both these cases in Pig World in the September 1999 and March 2000 issues.

POULTRY.

We have now carried out trials on four batches of broilers with very encouraging results. The treated houses have shown an average improvement in FCR of 5.2% when compared to untreated houses. Further trials are ongoing. Israeli trials with laying birds in the 1980s resulted in increased egg production of 5.85%.

VEHICLES AND HEATING SYSTEMS.

The Correct Magnets fitted to diesel fuel lines are producing an average reduction in smoke emissions of 40%. In the majority of cases this is resulting in a 10-12% saving in fuel. You can expect similar results on petrol engines and gas fuel lines.

WATER.

The Correct Magnet was fitted to a creamery in Ireland, where they had problems inside an oil fired steam boiler. Limescale build-up meant they had to power hose, acid wash and scrape the elements inside the boiler on an annual basis just to pass their annual insurance inspection. The cost of the shut down of the plant in terms of money and lost production was considerable. The Correct Magnets were fitted in October 1999 and in February 2000 the boiler was opened for inspection. All the scale was on the floor rather than the elements, waiting to be swept away and the insurance inspector passed the boiler immediately. The boiler was back in use within 1 hour rather than 3 days as on previous occasions.

The growing acceptance of the benefits of magnetic technology continues apace. At The Correct Magnet Company Limited we know it is crucial that correct magnetic perameters are applied if consistently good results are to be obtained. With The Correct Magnet system the evidence continues to be that we have got it right.
