The herd 12 month rolling Annual Average yield steadily improved from 7145 litres in September 1999 to 7795 in April 2000. This increase is also borne out by the improved monthly average litres/cow/day figures during this period which, when compared to the previous year, recorded an extra 1.5 litres/cow/day. An average increase in yield of 8.74% = 605 litres per cow over 7 months x 80 cows at 16 ppl is worth £7,744 extra for an outlay of £230.

An extra £258 per week income over 30 weeks.

In October cows served had a 3 month rolling conception to 1st service of 58% which has risen steadily to 75% for cows served in March. This rise coincides with a period when the cows were milking really well.
