I am very pleased to be able to write you this letter, and tell you about the improvements on my farm, after buying and installing a correct magnet. The milk yield has gone up. In November 2002 our herd average was 6,200 litres per cow and now October 2004 the herd is on target for 8,000 litres per cow. Our calving index has also improved and is now 401 days when it used to be 438. I am finding the cows are easier to get back in calf and after calving I can notice how well they cleanse their afterbirth. Another significant factor I found was the fall of our cell count. We use to be over 250,000 cells, but now running well below 200,000 cells. Now when I look over the herd I can see the difference in their coats. They now look very black instead of the rusty colour they use to be. My conclusion of the magnet is a very small price to pay to have such a big reward by having all these improvements, which means greater margins.

Yours faithfully, signed Paul Blewett.
