Whilst I fully understand the problems encountered by your establishment due to Peter Charles's methods, from my own end I am rather disappointed that at this rather late stage in our own procedures the 'three way' business relationship has taken this course.
Peter has made prior arrangement to telephone me on Wednesday the 8th September in order that I may have possibly place an order with him for fifty (50) magnets, this was conditional upon a proposal and subsequent resolution of my Association's Committee sitting on the 7th, in the light of the information provided by you (and on reflection, by Peter himself), he will be informed that by his own admission the product to be supplied by him has been altered from the original 'tested product' and that in light of that information, any such product altered by way of manufacturing process will be required to satisfy our procedures as did the original product.
The Associations testing procedure was adopted following approaches by three establishments who claimed that their product (all of which involved the use of magnet technology) would reduce the exhaust emissions of Oxford's hackney carriage fleet.
Colta arranged with Oxford City Council's engineering department to periodically test the emissions of cabs which had been fitted with these products, thereby ensuring that testing was carried out by an independent body who had an interest in highlighting inconsistent claims, each vehicle was tested at 'as near as possible' identical mileage intervals after fitting of the product, the test 'printout' of each test was forwarded to the Association to be included on the database.
Product One, was fitted to a 'K' registered Fairway Taxicab, cost in excess of One Hundred & Twelve Pounds and failed two subsequent emission tests, one of these tests was the vehicles six monthly mechanical examination resulting in loss of revenue to the proprietor, testing of this particular product was immediately halted and will not be re-commenced.
Product Two, was fitted to a 'S' registered TX 1 taxicab, cost around thirty five pounds and has consistently obtained emission reductions of approximately 37%, the vehicle has passed each subsequent emission test, the product did however require invasive procedure in order to fit the vehicle, approximate fitting times was twenty minutes.
Product Three (Correct Magnet), was fitted to a 'J' registered Fairway taxicab, cost's (as agreed) £38.78, has produced an average emission reduction in excess of 38% and requires no invasive procedures, it has passed each subsequent emission test, fitting time was approximately ten minutes.
I trust that the above information is of use to you.
I will be in touch as soon as my committee have resolved to place order/s.
Yours sincerely
